Football Staff Resigns
Four Grand Junction High School football coaches officially resigned from their coaching positions
yesterday. Head coach Shawn Marsh and assistant coaches Dan Bunnel, Kyle Rush and Darrell
Simonton notified principal Jon Bilbo April 21.

“We’ve had the time of our lives coaching together,” said Bunnel. He addressed several reasons for the
resignations including new family responsibilities, new job opportunities and disillusionment and
complications with coaching.

“We’re just done with it,” Simonton said.

The four coaches came in under a personal contract together and with the resignation of coach Marsh
they are all leaving.

“We came in together, we’re going out together,” Bunnel said.
